Türkiye Health Policies Institute and the Turkish Green Crescent Society Collaborate to Strengthen the Fight Against Addiction
The Presidency of Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB) and its affiliated institute, the Türkiye Health Policies Institute (TÜSPE), convened with the Turkish Green Crescent Society to develop effective solutions in the fight against addiction. The meeting, held on February 27, 2025, at Sepetçiler Pavilion, was chaired by Prof. Dr. Işıl Maral, President of TÜSPE, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dinç, President of the Turkish Green Crescent Society. Discussions focused on the current state of addiction, prevention strategies, and possible solutions.
During the meeting, the Turkish Green Crescent Society's preventive and rehabilitative efforts, various types of addiction, and recent developments in the field were reviewed. The importance of strengthening collaboration between the public sector, academia, and civil society organizations was emphasized.
TÜSPE reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the development and implementation of scientific-based projects in the fight against addiction. The discussions also addressed the use of artificial intelligence-supported monitoring mechanisms, updates to educational programs, and increasing awareness initiatives to prevent addiction. The need for stronger public-private partnerships and sustainable financing models was highlighted.
Moving forward, efforts to develop addiction prevention projects and strategic collaborations will accelerate and continue in the upcoming period.
