Policy Evaluation Report on Electronic Cigarettes and Novel Tobacco Products Has Been Published
The report, prepared by the Türkiye Health Policies Institute (TÜSPE) in collaboration with Istanbul Medeniyet University, evaluates the health impacts, usage trends, and regulatory approaches regarding electronic cigarettes and novel tobacco products, and serves as a scientific reference for policymakers.
Edited by Prof. Dr. Işıl MARAL, President of TÜSPE, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÇAKIR, Faculty Member at Istanbul Medeniyet University, with contributions from field experts, the report presents a comprehensive analysis of the definition, historical development, prevalence, and regulatory frameworks of these products. The study highlights the public health risks posed by the increasing use of such products, particularly among young people, and aims to contribute to the reassessment of Türkiye’s current policies in light of evolving conditions.
