The “Workshop on the Secure Collection and Sharing of Health Data,” Was Held in Collaboration Between TÜSEB and Istanbul Technical University (ITU)
On October 4, 2025, the “Workshop on the Secure Collection and Sharing of Health Data” was held in collaboration between the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU), hosted by ITU.
The workshop was attended by Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Türkiye Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şuayıp BİRİNCİ, Rector of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, President of the TÜSEB Türkiye Institute for Health Data Research and Artificial Intelligence Applications (TÜYZE) Prof. Dr. H. Muammer KARAKAŞ, and his team, President of the TÜSEB Türkiye Health Policies Institute (TÜSPE) Prof. Dr. Işıl MARAL, TÜSPE Scientific Board Members Prof. Dr. Sabahattin AYDIN (Rector of Istanbul Medipol University) and Prof. Dr. Haluk ÖZSARI (Vice Dean and Head of the Department of Health Management, Faculty of Health Sciences, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa), as well as TÜSPE Researcher Dr. Birol YETİM and R&D Specialist Şeyma YOL.
The workshop comprehensively addressed national and international approaches to the ethical, legal, and secure management of the growing volume of health data resulting from the digital transformation process. The event brought together representatives from the public sector, academia, and the private sector, focusing on topics such as data security, anonymization, data-sharing standards, ethical review mechanisms, and data governance in AI-supported healthcare applications.
Participants evaluated strategic solutions for the protection and secure sharing of health data and developed recommendations to guide future policies and practices in this area.
