President of the Türkiye Health Policies Institute Participated in the Digital Health Workshop
The “Digital Health Workshop,” attended by Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Türkiye Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şuayıp BİRİNCİ, President of the Türkiye Health Policies Institute (TÜSPE) Prof. Dr. Işıl MARAL, and TÜSPE Scientific Board Member Prof. Dr. Salih Haluk ÖZSARI, was held on July 5, 2025, at Istanbul Technical University.
At the event, which brought together representatives from the public sector, universities, and the private sector, the reasons behind the lack of globally successful initiatives in the field of digital health in Türkiye, the effects of artificial intelligence technologies on the health system, support for university-based initiatives, current reimbursement systems and legal regulations, as well as the financing and growth processes of new ventures were discussed.
The workshop also emphasized that healthcare services are being reshaped in line with technological developments, and that digital health applications not only facilitate access but also have the potential to reduce healthcare expenditures.
In comparative evaluations with the United States, it was stated that in order to create an environment that supports the development of innovative solutions, regulatory processes need to be improved, stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors is required, and interaction between universities and entrepreneurs should be increased.
We would like to thank all participants who contributed to the organization of this event, where current developments in the field of digital health were addressed with a multi-stakeholder approach, and the Department of Economics at Istanbul Technical University for hosting.
