Productive Health Promotion Meeting
Within the framework of the "Century of Healthy Türkiye" vision, the "Productive Health" Promotion Meeting and the "From Idea to Product: Productive Health Collaboration Protocol" Ceremony were held on January 9, 2025, at the Bilkent Campus of the Ministry of Health. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye and the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB).
The purpose of the meeting was to emphasize the importance of innovation and productivity in health sciences and technologies, and TÜSEB President Prof. Dr. Ümit KERVAN delivered a presentation titled "Health Model That Protects, Develops and Produces" and introduced projects that bring domestic production and innovation to the fore in health technologies.
At the event, the importance of establishing Technology Transfer Offices (TTO) in city hospitals for the development and export of innovative health products was highlighted. In addition, it was emphasized that the "Triple Helix" model, which encourages public-private sector and university cooperation, will play a key role in reducing foreign dependency.
The meeting concluded with the signing of the "From Idea to Product: Producing Health Cooperation Protocol". Innovative medical device and biotechnology prototypes on display in the foyer area demonstrated Turkey's growing strength in health sciences and technologies. While the protocols contribute to Turkey's strengthening in the international arena by promoting innovation in health technologies, the prototypes on display show that the health infrastructure is being strengthened through technological developments. In addition to our Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Kemal MEMİŞOĞLU, the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mehmet Fatih KACIR, the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Board of Health and Food Policies, Prof. Dr. Serkan TOPALOĞLU, and the President of TÜSEB, Prof. Dr. Ümit KERVAN, gave their opening speeches. The Productive Health Model Promotion Meeting was also attended by relevant managers, deputies, scientists and sector representatives and our Institute President Prof. Dr. Işıl MARAL.
